OVERVIEW:
The Islamabad Medical and Dental College Library is regarded as one of the best medical library in Pakistan. The library adds new titles and updates its collection regularly to enhance students education and to make available the latest resource material for faculty.
The library is a central part of IMDC, which provides educational resources to support the college work and mainly serve the faculty and students of the college. The library provides a range of resources in print and electronic media to support the teaching, learning and research activities. The library stocks over 8600 books and journals in medical, teaching and general subjects. A collection of reference books is also available. The non-print collection includes audio and videocassettes, CDs, slides & presentations.
The mission of the library is the advancement of medical education by:
- Assuring access and linkage to the world's medical literature
- Exploring and promoting effective utilization of information & knowledge.
- Educating library users in the principles and techniques of information management.
