The College has a spacious and air-conditioned library with a scenic view of the Margallah Hills towards its North. At present, after adding some individual computer carrels, the library can easily accommodate 100 students.
The library contains more than 8,600 books on various disciplines of Medical Sciences. Besides Medical Sciences, Pakistan Studies, Islamic Studies, General Knowledge, Reference and literary books are also available in the library. The library has been well-equipped with the latest text and reference books in Basic Sciences. The latest books on all Medical subjects are available in multiple copies of Clinical Sciences.
The students and teachers can borrow books from the library for a period of two weeks to one month. Pre-clinical and Clinical Sciences books are also being added in the library. More than 70 back volumes of medical journals are available while multiple national and international journals are on subscription list. PM&DC approved National medical journals are being subscribed. International journals are also subscribed through HEC digital library. More than 850 books in all medical disciplines have been added during 2009-2010. The library has also more than 300 CDs on various topics of medical sciences, accessible by students and faculty.
The College library also has access to National Digital Library HEC, providing access to a large number of e-books along with scientific and medical journals. Through the HEC National Digital Library, more than 17,000 journals are accessible to the library by this facility. Any medical journal can be browsed, consulted and downloaded to facilitate the students and teachers.
Supplementing the main library, there are departmental libraries, each having reference and textbooks. The College has also developed separate libraries at our teaching hospital, Social Security Hospital, Islamabad & Ahmad Medical Complex Hospital Rawalpindi. These hospital libraries houses about 2,000 books on Clinical Sciences along with medical journals and internet facility.
The college has a fully equipped computer lab with latest PC's multimedia with 4mb Premium Internet Bandwidth facility. Basic aim of the lab is to carry our research across a broad range of subjects and facilitate the students with modern IT related equipment. All computers on the campus are interlinked and connected to a main server through LAN and can easily access the internet within the college premises.
Facilitating the college personnel in secure and reliable communication is our Virtual Private Network (VPN). The VPN has two domains, one of which is for global applications. The second domain is for local applications needed for the National Digital Library access.
We have multimedia facilities like ceiling multimedia projectors and sound systems for modern digital educational techniques. IT has become an inherent and indispensable component of teaching, research, and campus life. Realizing the importance of Information & Technology, IT Department has developed strategic plan and manage the Network within the college campus with all infrastructure, user support services and core enterprise applications.
Currently the hostels are located in rented facilities within 10 minutes drive from campus. Transport between college and hostel is provided with separate buses for males and females. The hostels are based on occupancy of 3-4 students per room with shared bathrooms. They are located at walking distances from shops but a regular facility is available for students to go to the market with no extra charge especially for the female students. The hostels have activity lounge with TV. The hostel fee also includes messing (3 meals). Full security is provided and they are supervised by live-in wardens. The hostels are provided with internet access and computer facilities.
